Dear Heavenly Father,
Omnipotent God,
Master of the Universe,
How easily those phrases roll off our tongues but how difficult they are for our minds to grasp! We want to honor You with our praises and yet we cannot ever fathom the depths of who You are! So we offer our praises and our worship, realizing that in our finiteness we don’t really comprehend what we are saying, we only know that we can trust You with everything in our lives and in this ministry.
We want to praise You today for sending Your Holy Spirit ahead of a letter of admonition which had to be sent to one of our Honduran pastors. Thank You for the dream You gave this pastor which allowed him to receive the word of correction and to humbly accept it, bringing resolution to an important issue.
We thank You for the good and godly men and women who comprise the Board of Directors for Heart to Honduras. This week we want to focus our prayers on the Board as they come to Xenia to meet this Thursday and Friday.
Ø We pray for Board chair Jerry Grubbs – for wisdom as he leads this guiding body of people who love this ministry, and for healing for his body which is facing more surgery in the protracted recovery process from prostate cancer surgery.
Ø We ask for a bonding among the various Board members as they meet together and discuss the agenda items. May they feel Your presence with them, guiding their input and their decisions.
Ø Lord, there are many important items on the agenda – big decisions about projects and personnel which will impact the ministry for many years to come. We ask that You open their eyes to possible problems and cautions that they need to see, but also open their hearts to the visions and possibilities for Kingdom impact. Help them to weigh both sides in the balance and make decisions based on Your leading.
Ø We lift up Board member Robin Wood as he is grieving over the tragic car accident which took the life of the wife of a church planter last week. Give him safety as he travels to Vancouver, WA for the funeral and then to here for the Board meeting the next day, and help him to be able to give comfort to the family and then shift focus to the decisions being made for Heart to Honduras.
Ø We ask for healing for Board member Steve Birch’s wife from her surgery last week – and for good news from the pathology report.
Ø We ask for safe travel for everyone coming to the meeting – whether they are flying from Honduras, Florida, Kansas, California, or Oklahoma-by-way-of-Washington, or are driving from Kentucky or somewhere in Ohio, we ask for good flight connections, safety in the air and on the road, and time to collect their thoughts so they can focus on the items for the meeting.
We place the entire Board and all of their deliberations in Your hands. Guide them by Your Spirit. AMEN.
