Dear Heart to Honduras Family,

I have some important news to share with each of you and I also want to ask each of you to pray and be ready to assist us as we move forward together to fulfill our God-given call to serve the poor in Honduras and Central America. This year has been a challenging one for Heart to Honduras for many reasons. We have been faced with political uncertainty in Honduras, financial challenges, organizational challenges, and most recently a realization that our brother Miguel Pinell is in need of a Sabbatical rest and renewal.

Therefore, as we move forward with more intentionality and passion than ever, I want you to know that for the next six months, Miguel will be experiencing a much-needed Sabbatical. It will be important that we all help him do that, and keep him supported in prayer as he takes this time to be quiet and rest and renew. We will tell you more about the details and plan for his Sabbatical time very soon. Until then, please allow him to rest.

While Miguel is on Sabbatical I have asked Jose Reyes, a Honduran businessman and newly appointed HTH Board member, to serve as Acting Director. Jose has generously agreed to fill the gap and provide leadership for the staff and operations in Honduras . Thank you, Jose! Please be praying for Jose and the CPH staff as they work together in this important time.

The HTH Board and I will take this time to do a careful review of all of our operations and our future plans as we move forward to accomplish what God has envisioned for this important ministry. This is going to be a very exciting time for each one of us as we refocus and renew our commitment to fulfill the mission God gave this ministry more than 20 years ago. I would ask for your help and your prayers as we move forward together as the close-knit Heart to Honduras family that we are.

I have never been more excited about our future. Our next steps will be huge and will impact future generations in major ways both here in the U.S. and in Honduras and Central America. Thank you for your amazing support to this ministry! Without passionate partners like you, the poor would be forgotten and abandoned.

Please let me know if you have any questions. I look forward to our ongoing partnership in Christ.
